Agilty Instructor Emily Snider

Emily Snider currently resides in Garland, TX with her four dogs (3 Border Collies & 1 Jack Russell Terrorist).  While she has always had a dog by her side, and has always enjoyed training dogs, it took her Jack Russell Terrier to introduce her to agility in 2003.  Emily has used agility to rehabilitate a rescue corgi/JRT mix (who started off so people and dog aggressive that most would run the other way), and turned her into a therapy dog that now runs agility with her new owner and junior handler in the Houston area.

Emily got her first border collie in 2006 and has since widely broadened her skillset for training dogs, using what they love, to love what they do, training with purely positive methods.  She has trialed her Jack Russell Terrier up to the Masters level, and competes at the highest level of USDAA with her two adult border collies.  She and Josefin are currently gathering scores for both AKC (FCI) and USDAA (IFCS) World Teams.  Her puppy, Felicity, is currently in training, and shows great promise for the sport of agility, and whatever else she and Emily choose to do together.

Note from Emily:
The biggest part of the sport we play is the bond between dog and human.  If there is not a certain level of respect between you two, your partnership will never reach its full potential.  I can assist you in getting on the same page as your agility partner, tightening up your performances, and learning how to deal with anything a course might throw at you.  I have a keen eye for running contacts, and I can also help speed up and sharpen up the performance of your stopped contacts.  I am a firm believer in having a lot of different, well-loved, well-used tools in your agility tool belt.  I can assist you and your agility teammate in strengthening your partnership and continuing on your road to success both on the course and off.
